From seed growing to wine bottling
In 2019, granaries owners faced with a number of cases when stored grain shortages were extremely high. During shrinkage and cleaning, grain loses weight, and this allows dishonest employees to disguise grain manipulation as natural losses. In other words, fraud was a rather common thing. Due to usual thefts, losses amounted to 2.4 billion rubles. So, there was an obvious need to develop a system for monitoring, accounting and preserving grain to minimize the difference in grain weight at the input and output. Also, it was required to protect the grain crops storage, where thousands of tons of wheat, oats and other grains are stored annually.
Galileosky partner installed an explosion-proof level meter at the top of the silage, which processes grain level data continuously and transmits information in real time via Galileosky unit to the telematics platform. In case of any unreasonable grain level drop, the alarm signal is sent to the mobile phones and computers of responsible people with reference to geolocation.
The second element of the system is an electronic sealing device that allows to control access to the elevator flaps, remotely open and close access to the flaps, and also transmit information about unauthorized opening attempts.
Over the next four months, together with the customer, various control tests were carried out, which included grain level changing situations simulating. Based on the pilot installation results, the hardware and software complex was approved by the Grain Union for further use at the country's elevators.
As a result, Galileosky' partner implemented a solution where an explosion-proof level meter for bulk materials and an electronic seal in conjunction with Galileosky unit ensured the operational data on the grain volume transfer. Data is transformed into reports and graphs, and also allows to monitor grain safety continuously. The approximate payback period for this solution is 6-12 months. It depends on the stored asset type, as well as on its volume in one silage.
You can use similar solutions in your projects. The potential of the devices is great, facing basic monitoring challenges, you form the foundation for more complex projects implementation using the same equipment without the need to carry out complete re-equipment.
