NETPRO MYANMAR integrator controls excavators and other special equipment with Galileosky tracking devices. Monitoring system obtains data on engine performance, operating modes, fuel consumption and control the equipment while moving. Poor GSM connection and hard weather conditions during rainy season are not an obstacle.

Project background

End customer who is into heavy industrial equipment, faced with the following problem: operation mode data, fuel consumption and information about driver verification is either not collected at all, or in a very truncated version. It is impossible to optimize working process and keep correct records of the work performed due to lack of updated info.

In order to get basic data about engine work, specialists connected to machine’s CANbus and received operating time data only. In other words: they could check the fact of engine start/stop and daily running time.

Driver identification was carried out pretty bad and no one controlled the equipment movement thoroughly.

Solution

Experts opted for Base Block Optimum units. Over 2 hundred devices was required. Its antennas provide high accuracy in location determining, reliability in sending data to server and a fairly long transmission distance.

To solve the tasks, integrator also used Escort FLS, ZM photo camera, Drexia RFID Reader and Wialon monitoring software. It looks something like this: total operating time is 8 hours, under load - 6, idle – 1 hour and in motion - 1 hour. Machine’s operations were recorded timely and thus, easy to analyze.

In addition to engine data obtaining, it is important to compare them with current parameters from the fuel tank. It excludes the likelihood of fuel draining and writing deliberately incorrect data down in reports.

The camera was used to identify the operator and check the status of his work during the shift.

The project was unusual because the region is in rainy season which lasts 4 months. Difficult weather conditions affect the equipment performance, but not the Galileosky units. Moreover, due to the remote control and configuration option, there is no need to connect locally.

Thanks to the device-based monitoring system, customer sees data of engine operation: fuel consumption, operating mode and working time. This data is clearly structured and could be used for analysis. Moreover, driver identification and satellite control of equipment travelling has been set up.
