The Pearl of Africa Rally is the stage of the championship series and one of the most anticipated events in African motorsport, attracting drivers and co-drivers from all over the continent. Pilots have to cover 508 kilometers of deserted gravel roads in the shortest possible time to get ahead of other crews and win the stage.
To participate, all rally cars undergo a technical inspection, where the organizers check all the security systems of the car carefully. According to the regulations, in addition to the power frame and fire extinguishing systems, rally cars should be equipped with a telematics system. It is necessary to count the speed and time of covering the needed distance, as well as to call emergency services in case of an accident.
The racing team faced the challenge to find a reliable solution that would work properly even in high temperatures, strong vibrations and dense dust.
The solution was offered by Integrated Security Solutions. This is the company, that offers reliable, efficient and affordable solutions suitable for any site where security is a priority. The specialists opted for Galileosky 7.0 tracking devices. The project also required peripherals such as a panic button, speakers and microphones. There were 45 race cars equipped, most of them are Subaru and Mitsubishi.
The system keeps track of the distance covered. In addition, if a stop is noticed during a stage, a signal is sent to the crew assistant. He contacts the driver and co-driver to check out the reason for the stop. And then sends rescue team or a technical assistance vehicle if necessary.
Moreover, the car has an emergency button. It is used in case of flips and serious accidents and allows to inform the security service of the championship directly not wasting time on calling back the crew. When the button is pressed, a notification with coordinates, time and car data is sent to the Wialon monitoring server.
Reliability and ease to setup are why we chose Galileosky devices. Moreover, due to voice communication support, we set up two-way communication between the crew and the support team.

The monitoring system based on Galileosky units has been approved by Motorsport Federation of Uganda. So that rally organizers and technical support team can monitor speed of the car at deserted sections, and provide crews’ safety.
You can use same solutions in your projects. As you see, devices potential is great, they are used anywhere on Earth. Water transport, sports cars, seismic exploration all-terrain vehicles and even weather stations are controlled by Galileosky devices.
