The Virtual Copilot System helps to monitor safety at industrial facilities. EPOL has been developing and supporting this system since the late 2018. It was created to monitor drivers' compliance with traffic rules, such as driving speed. The EPOL specialists have implemented the drivers’ rating system according to the data received from the monitoring software, which takes into account all violations, compliance with traffic rules, by making graphs and reports. As a result, this leads to a continuous improvement in driving style, increasing road safety.
The system is simple and at the same time easy to use, because it uses Easy Logic algorithms, which allow to record and playback the voice notifications for drivers, to quickly respond to deviations from the set parameters, to control various parameters of equipment automatically.
More than 2,000 Galileosky 7X 3G tracking devices are currently operating on the various vehicles primarily at the Quebrada Blanca Phase 2 (QB2) mining project, which is one of the world's largest undeveloped copper resources and is the largest private mining site in South America, located about 240 kilometers southeast of Iquique.
In unsafe areas, the Virtual Copilot System allows to set up voice alerts in the vehicle cab based on the safety requirements, such as sticking to a maximum speed limit of 85 km/h on certain road sections. The system differentiates between light and heavy vehicles, which have different restrictions on the road. Galileosky devices allow to configure any operating scenario, as well as creation up to 3,000 geofences.
Of course, 100% of the work is done offline, and the contracting companies forget about the areas outside the GSM zone, which are a major problem on the mining routes.
On the other hand, the system can easily be adapted to the current requirements of different customers. Ony can work on high mountain roads, which is typical for the Chilean high plateaus, where the driver may encounter extreme conditions at altitudes above 5,200 meters above sea level.
Transportation companies can keep system-validated records of their drivers' performance.
Bechtel has introduced the new speed control conditions, in which they see great value, because thereby they can control that the speed limits on the Chilean roads do not exceed, for example, 50 km/h, and if the contractor wants it to be lower, this can easily be controlled: set suitable parameters or create new geofences.
Vehicles are often out of the GPRS zone, so it is impossible to configure the system via the server. The company's experts have used the Easy Logic technology: developed an algorithm that allows to track vehicles, monitor compliance with traffic rules, notify drivers of violations. In the mining industry a thorough control is very important, which EPOL was able to implement with the help of the Galileosky 7x 3G tracking devices, the advantages of which are the ability to use the Easy Logic technology, digital outputs and RS232 protocol.
«The Galileosky tracking devices are the heart of the project, the whole system was built based on the Galileosky devices. We are very happy to be Galileosky partners in our region, because even though they are very far away, on the other side of the planet from Chile, they always find time to always be very close to Epol».
With more than 2,000 Galileosky 7X 3G devices used in the projects, Epol presents itself as a leader in the safety technology field by monitoring the compliance with traffic rules on the mining routes virtually.
It is possible to create up to 3,000 geofences to monitor vehicles.
The system is 100% easy to use and can be adapted to the current requirements of different customers. 100% of work is done offline.
