The Wi-Fi solution is designed for using in places where the GSM signal is not available for some reason. These can be mines, construction sites in remote areas, logging sites or oil derricks, and more.
In normal circumstances, customers have to use the expensive Iridium channel or collect data from the equipment manually using removable media. So it's worth looking at a Wi-Fi solution, which has the advantage of low cost and ease of use.
In this series of videos we have introduced the Wi-Fi functionality, detailed the necessary settings, examined the different modes of tracking devicesand the algorithm for switching them.
1. In the first video we explain why a Wi-Fi tracking device is needed and configured it in the simplest client mode
2. In the second video we discuss how to configure tracking device in client mode when it needs to upload data not via access point but to another tracking device operating in archive collector mode, i.e. in HUB mode.
3. In the third video we configure how to switch the tracking device automatically from archive collector mode to client mode.
